Helping to change the world

But don’t take our word for it.

See what’s happening across the ACE community.
Courage can change the world – it really can.

We recently caught up with ACE graduates from across our College community to talk careers, motivation, pathways and ultimate goals. Check it out. What they have to say is refreshingly good stuff so we are sharing. If you are short on time we encourage you to select the location closest to you and start exploring.

Alma Prado

“Working for a year at a facility as a cleaner built up my confidence to try as an assistant in nursing or carer, so I applied for a company scholarship to complete the Certificate III in Individual Support and was successful in the position.
The best part about ACE is the hours, flexibility and the course schedule. It is very practical that you can work and study at the same time. I love the people and trainers, they are really excellent at their job.
I hope my story can inspire someone in the community. Learning never stops, no matter what your age and status!”

Adam Lauret

“I decided to pursue disability support work as a change of career. I’ve been working in hospitality for 16 years and I just thought I needed a change.
ACE Colleges has been really good, good resources, good staff, lots of helpful students as well. Work placement has also definitely helped me secure a new job. I think just take the leap of faith like I did, and hopefully it all works out.”

Lotus Strachan

“I remember overhearing someone talk about courses available at ACE in passing and it instantly caught my attention. I was at a complete loss of what to do career wise and restless with my day to day living, I was searching for something more, and I absolutely found that something more.
Do it, do it for yourself, you will not regret it. With my course now complete I’m applying for a job that I truly care about at the workplace of my dreams.”

Annie Healey

“I joined the Individual Support program at ACE in Murwillumbah in 2024. I persisted with help from LLN (language literacy numeracy) support organised by ACE. I have become much more confident and less fearful of learning new things. Don’t give up, don’t let your fears rule you, learn from mistakes and don’t let negative thoughts get in your way.
I have got my first qualification, and I am an example to my children by being persistent and determined, showing them that you can achieve anything if you really want to. Who knows I might go on to further study in the future as learning is lifelong!”
