Ready to take the next step but not sure where to begin? An accredited Foundation Skills course may be the key.
You may be wondering “what’s next” after school, entering the workforce for the first time, wanting to pursue further study, or simply unsure what direction to take. For young people who have experienced barriers to learning, need a little extra guidance or aren’t sure of their next move, the great news is you don’t have to sort this out on your own.
ACE Foundation Skills programs provide a welcoming way to develop the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to build a path moving forward. You will be supported to gain clarity and confidence, as you explore your ideal career direction.
We recognise that everyone learns differently. Our trainers adapt their teaching, with personalised mentoring and individual learning plans to suit your goals. We can also connect students with additional support where needed, helping create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Through engaging workshops and sessions, you will also strengthen practical, work-ready skills including:
- Career planning
- Communication
- Social skills and working with others
- Public speaking
- Digital and technology skills
- Problem-solving
- Spelling, reading and writing
- Numeracy and budgeting
- Workplace health and safety.

We work closely with community organisations across Queensland and New South Wales, delivering these valuable programs.
Sophia (Program Coordinator at PCYC Zillmere) shares, “The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways has helped to provide positive outcomes for the young people we support, helping bridge the gap towards a Year 10-equivalent level and creating pathways into further study, and employment opportunities. It provides young people with practical skills for entering the workforce, including communicating with others, understanding workplace expectations and navigating workplace documents.
We have seen many participants grow in confidence and recognise that they are capable of achieving their goals, even when other education pathways have not worked out for them. We continue to see the benefits as our young people build on their skills and move into employment, further study and other opportunities.”
