Lismore 9 January 2023

Welcome, Therese!

We’ve got some very exciting news to kick off the year. Introducing our awesome new manager in Lismore, Therese! We sat down with Therese to get to know her a little better and find out what’s in store for 2023.

Therese made the exciting decision to move into the not-for-profit adult learning sector at ACE after nearly 20 years in public education, mainly in regional and remote NSW. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction and a Graduate Diploma in Education, as well as being accredited in several special interest units. Therese is passionate about supporting others in their learning journey and transforming lives; she knows ACE is the perfect fit. “Continually learning builds a fulfilling life. Love what you do!”

Therese has Lismore in her blood. Although she has lived in many places around Australia, it is always the Lismore landscape and diverse community that draws her back. She considers it a privilege to live, work and learn on the Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers and is enthusiastic about the future of the region. She has volunteered with local charities and social enterprise, giving back to the community she loves. “Working with local businesses and industry experts, I am most looking forward to reinvigorating the Leisure and Lifestyle courses and expanding the offering for our locals.” When not at work, you might spot Therese meandering through the markets in her spare time or walking her beloved pooches on the beach.

We just can’t wait to see what this new year brings with Therese at the helm of the ACE Lismore ship. A huge Welcome, Therese!
