Get Ahead Of The Pack

We’ve been hearing a lot lately from students using their qualifications not only for existing careers, but beyond, securing credentials to really get the ball rolling in life and work. Meet Jemsea, who’s goal was to get ahead of the pack, completing a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care before jetsetting off on an adventure to explore the world! 🌏

“I began my course when I started working at Little Seeds Early Learning Centre. In the beginning I hadn’t planned for this to be a permanent role but once I had worked in the centre for a few months I fell in love with being an educator and soon took on a traineeship and permanent part time role. Being in the industry whilst studying improved my knowledge and understanding of the industry and hugely benefited me!

I have always loved children and have always naturally connected with them. I coached gymnastics and cheerleading since I was 16 and knew I wanted to turn working with children into a career.

Now that I have completed my Certificate III I am going to travel for a few years. When I come home I will be better off – I can use my qualification to get back into the early childhood setting and continue my love for teaching whether it be in a centre, nannying or coaching!

I was unsure about study as I hadn’t studied since completing high school but any help or assistance you need you will get from the trainers and staff as well as colleagues working in the industry already. There is such a large team of people to help that there’s really nothing to be nervous about!

My trainers both Julene and Stevie always made me feel comfortable and welcomed to ask for any help or assistance I needed.  My study was easy to navigate and I had access to all my additional resources via Canvas. ACE Burleigh campus have open study days on Monday which allow students to come and work on their study with a trainer beside them to help with any questions or problems! This was a huge part of me successfully finishing my study in shorter time frame due to me leaving the country.”

If Jemsea’s go-getter attitude hasn’t left you empowered and motivated to #LoveWhatYouDo and kick those goals, we don’t know what will!
