Description
Elevate your skills to create a practical and trendy crochet bag. This workshop has been designed as a next level class, after you have mastered the basics in our Introduction to Crochet class.
Ideally, you will already be comfortable with basic crochet stitches (single, double and half double) as well as understanding how to work ‘in a round’. Learn fun, new techniques for incorporating stitch textures, making handles and adding a bag closure to your piece.
Really make it your own by exploring pattern adjustments for sizing and customisation, learn how to create a crochet motif or flower to embellish your bag, and let your personality shine.
This course runs for two sessions, over two consecutive weeks at our Lismore campus.
TRAINER
After the success of our introduction to crochet courses in ACE Lismore, Jenny Du Frocq is back, helping students grow their crochet know-how.
What started as a crafting hobby about five years ago has bloomed into a crochet business with more than 500 handcrafted treasures sold online.
“I got into crochet as a mindfulness activity that could support my wellbeing, an activity that could engage the mind and body. This is how I fell in love with the ‘Art of Crochet’, crafting many items, giving them to friends and family, then selling the items at local craft markets and now online.
I take my crochet projects almost everywhere with me, it is so versatile and something I do every day. It would be fair to say I am hooked on crochet; I am always excited to think about and anticipate the next project I will undertake. Sometimes I do not know what this will be, it is a work in progress, revealed by the end product”.
