Course
Description

This brilliant course will expand your digital graphic and imaging know-how. It’s a non-accredited introduction to the skills you need to be a successful graphic designer.

You will receive an overview of the industry plus an understanding of the core principles and tools used, including typography, layout and more. Learn the practical, theoretical, and social responsibilities of the visual communicator – fundamentals for employment within a wide range of media/marketing and advertising jobs.

Apply the knowledge learned to present a self-initiated product/s to the class. The first three weeks will be spent reviewing the history, tools, processes and scope of the daily output of the graphic designer. In the second half, students will analyse a client problem and use simple desktop publishing software to create and deliver a design solution.

Perfect for anyone contemplating or aiming to work in graphic design, illustration, motion or online; preparing a portfolio for university entrance; practising artists considering to ‘crossover’ or anyone with an interest in communicating in 2D graphics in other mediums.

This course runs for six sessions, over six consecutive weeks at our Lismore campus.
