Course
Description
Discover the power of your voice through poetry. Whether you’re a seasoned wordsmith looking to add to your repertoire, or putting pen to paper for the first time, this course is for everybody. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of writing and performing your poetry.
Brainstorm ideas around a subject of your choice and use your senses to build a framework for the poem. Learn the different types of poetry (rhyming, syllable counts, metaphors + more) and how to lay out and edit your work.
You will finish with exercises on how to memorise and perform your poem verbally, voice projection, building confidence, overcoming fear and how to use a microphone. By the end of the course, you’ll have crafted a poem that’s uniquely yours—and be ready to present it with pride.
This course runs for four sessions, over four consecutive weeks at our Lismore campus.
