About this course
Capture the beauty of the world around us in this watercolour painting course. Turn your vision into reality with the guidance of our expert trainer.
- Start with an introduction to the important foundations: landscape composition, theory, and perspective.
- Then, learn all about water-based pigments and how to use them.
- Discover the wash and brush techniques that make the watercolour method unique.
You will have the opportunity to practice your new skills by creating trial artworks in class and at home. With the assistance of your trainer, learn to critique and improve your work.
- This course is suitable for beginners, and no experience is necessary.
- However, some drawing experience would be an advantage.
This course runs for three sessions, over three consecutive weeks at our Lismore or Murwillumbah campus.

Jasmine O’Shea is an experienced watercolourist, beginning her artistic practice as a young child. Having studied art, design and horticulture, she is a keen sketch book and visual diary enthusiast, using watercolour to capture the essence of local plants, locations and landscapes in the Northern Rivers.
Jasmine has been teaching private tutorials and group art classes since 2018 and enjoys sharing her skills to help others express their vision.
materials
- A comprehensive paint and materials list will be emailed to students ahead of class.
- You may purchase some of the essential items (basic paint, 4 sheets of thick paper, 2 brushes and a small selection of watercolour pencils) at an additional $35 fee, payable to the trainer on the first day of class. Alternatively, please bring your own items according to the materials list provided.
- You may wish to bring your own photo of a landscape to paint. Alternatively, the trainer will provide an image for inspiration.
