HLTWHS002 FOLLOW SAFE WORK PRACTICES FOR DIRECT CLIENT CARE (Manual Handling)
Learn how to follow safe work practices for direct client care, describes the skills and knowledge required for a worker to participate in safe work practices to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others in work environments that involve caring directly for clients. It has a focus on maintaining safety of the worker, the people being supported and other community members; and includes information on how to:
- follow safe work practices for direct client care
- follow safe work practices for manual handling
- follow safe work practices for infection control
- contribute to safe work practices in the workplace; and
- reflect on own safe work practices.
The Unit contains learning content, case studies, formative assessments and learning checkpoints; and is conducted over two days.
DAY ONE – students complete the prerequisite online learning module.
DAY TWO – students complete the practical component for this Unit.
All students will need to wear enclosed footwear and appropriate clothing for undertaking physical manual handling activities.
HLTINF001 COMPLY WITH INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
This nationally recognised skill set is designed to build your knowledge and capabilities in infection prevention and control. Learn how to follow organisational policies and procedures, implement both standard and transmission-based precautions, and effectively respond to potential infection risks and is completed over two days.
DAY ONE – Online computer based learning theory.
DAY TWO – Practical skills for infection control training day.

HLTINF001 Comply with Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures.
Students receive a Certificate of Attainment upon successful completion.
