We’re thrilled to introduce you to ACE Queensland’s new Training and Development Manager, Marrissa Parker.
Marissa believes in the huge value of vocational education, challenging the conforms of how people undertake study and opening alternate doors to career possibilities. She comes to ACE with 10 years’ experience in RTO operations, compliance and training and development management after a background in finance and business services.
Her favourite part about the sector is its’ power to help shape futures. “Education has the power to help someone change their life and the lives of those around them and many people are not suited to the structure of tertiary education, vocational education gives them options. It’s a knowledge based ECO system that supports shaping everyone’s future (we have running water and electricity because of vocationally trained people). It’s a good day when I can come to work and watch education take on a life of its own and give a person a sense of self-worth and accomplishment. I enjoy helping (even is such a small way) to make a difference”.
A true powerhouse, she strives in learning. Her next big personal study goal is gaining her law degree (wow). Hailing from the country, her family is baseball mad (she’s even on her son’s club committee) and on weekends you will find her at the museum, QPAC theatre or planning her next cruise holiday.
Welcome on board Marrissa 😊
