This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to work independetly, under broad guidance, to promote individual and group wellbeing in community and residential settings. Relevant occupation titles may include: assessor, family support worker, case coordinator, group facilitator, case worker or manager, pastoral care counsellor, client service assessor, pastoral care manager, community services worker, program coordinator or manager, community worker, senior youth officer / chaplain, social welfare worker, coordinator family service, support facilitator, early intervention worker, welfare worker. The course will be offered by self paced learning. It is designed to suit existing workers. The length of the course will depend to some extent on qualifications already held. An Apply First Aid certificate is included. The course may provide substantial credits towards a university Social Science degree.
